Jack Jackovich

The pottery of Jack Jackovich will be featured in our front window.  His pottery is a representative of the ocean and natural settings found on the west coast of Canada.  The bottoms of his bowls find swimming orca, and shells and other sea life can also be found adorning his work.

His interest in the art world has been a life long affair beginning with a passion for painting. That interest led to art school, then a degree in Art Education at U.B.C. majoring in painting and ceramics.

1972 brought a teaching appointment at the Banff Centre and an interest in clay.
This led to further studies and a Master’s Degree in three-dimensional art.

Retirement from 30 years of teaching in the school system allows Jack to work full time in his Oyster River Studio.
