The alchemy of earth, fire, water and air brings to you the magic of ceramic art.

The Potters Place Gallery in the beautiful Comox Valley is a beautiful ceramics gallery run as a non profit society by a collective of local island potters. 

Combining Art & Education Since 1965

Our potters create some of the most beautiful pottery in British Columbia. The Potters Place has been in operation for over 20 years.  The Potters Place shows the largest selection of clay works on Vancouver Island and one of the largest in B.C. and Canada.

Our Story

Our potters create functional work, wheel thrown and hand built, include dinnerware, teapots, casseroles, vases, mugs, wine and whisky cups, butter dishes and more.  Some of our potters are makes of sculptural pieces,  both using the pottets wheel and then altered and carved including animals, wall hangings and masks.

There is really so much to choose from, whether you are in search fpr that perfect gift for a friend or loved one, or… for your self.  

Stoneware, porcelain and earthenware clays are used in a spectrum of colour fired from low to high temperatures in electric, gas, and wood kilns.

Our Mission

As a not for profit society, we have a mandate to not only bring beautiful ceramic art to the valley, but we also help to promote the arts through education. 

We have recently created the Robin Hopper Bursary for Ceramic Arts. This bursary is granted each year to applicants who are interested in learning and studying pottery.  We  accept applications and grately appreciate donations to the bursary fund.

The pottery gallery was established 25 years ago as an outlet for local pottery. It has grown from those early days to become one of the most sought out galleries of ceramic arts on Vancouver Island.  Visitors to the Comox Valley are delighted at the calibre of pottery produced locally.  Currently over 30 island potters sell from the store offering an impressive variety of high quality pottery
